Panel Session at the Maryland Communications Association Conference to Focus
on Communication and Culture

Baltimore, Maryland…October 12, 2016…VoiceVibes, Inc., the developer of the innovative speech analysis tool that improves the public speaking ability of its users, announced today that Founder and CEO, Debra Bond Cancro, will be featured as part of the Communication and Culture Panel on Saturday October 22, 2016 as a part of the Maryland Communication Association 32nd Annual Conference themed “Communication, Politics and Public Perception”. The conference is to take place at the Community College of Baltimore County, Catonsville Campus on October 21-22 and will feature scholars, teachers, and practitioners involved in all aspects of communications research and teaching in Maryland.
Ms. Cancro will be joined by Dr. Amy Oneal-Self, Assistant Professor of English, who has been using the VoiceVibes software as part of her teaching tools and class materials for Public Speaking courses at Wor-Wic Community College in Maryland. Dr. Oneal-Self has been an active user of VoiceVibes as part of the Company’s beta test at various in colleges and universities across the country since the end of last year.
The presentation, entitled “Automating Formative Assessment of Vocal Delivery: the Virtual Speech Coach”, includes findings from Dr. Oneal-Self’s trials of VoiceVibes assessment technology in multiple sections of the Speech 101 Course. The goal of the study was to determine whether automated speech coaching helps students engage in enhanced self-regulated and self-directed learning strategies.
