Company Hosts Exhibit Booth to Target Comm Studies Teachers and Students
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Baltimore, Maryland…March 24, 2016…VoiceVibes, Inc. the developer of the innovative speech analysis tool that improves the public speaking ability of its users, announced today that it will feature its cloud-based software at the annual convention of the Eastern Communications Association (ECA). This professional society of scholars, teachers and students of communications studies across the country will convene in Baltimore on March 31st – April 3rd.
The VoiceVibes tool has been in a beta test at numerous Speech and Public Speaking classes in colleges and universities across the state of Maryland since the end of last year. The cloud-based software examines a student’s vocal delivery of a speech that has been uploaded to the platform and provides an immediate assessment on how the user scored on various vocal attributes. These voice patterns and habits are analyzed to ascertain how an audience would perceive the speaker. They include pace, pausing, pitch, clarity, frequency of using ‘like’, ‘um’, ‘oh’ as well as others.
Dashboard dials display scores and metrics for each vibe as well as an overall score, thereby delivering an immediate assessment to the student. Each vibe score is accompanied by a related onscreen tip suggesting how that user can improve their vocal delivery on that attribute. The user can also click on the related section of the speech to hear first-hand what needs further practice.
Using VoiceVibes, teachers gain a 21st century interactive digital tool complementing their traditional materials and textbooks for teaching speech, public speaking and related courses. Students gain a “virtual speaking coach” that provides professional feedback at any time, all the time, leading to improved oral communications skills and better grades.
“VoiceVibes removes much of the anxiety from public speaking by motivating people to practice more,” explains founder and CEO Debra Bond Cancro. “By providing professional feedback with specific recommendations in an automated way, users can track their improvements from one practice session to the next, making it easier to become a better communicator,” she adds.
“VoiceVibes is like having a personal speech coach ‘on-call’. I can practice and get feedback whenever it’s convenient for my schedule,” explains Charles Ahn, University of Maryland student.
Since January, the Company has added beta test classrooms at Stanford University, Virginia Tech and the George Washington University. To inquire about joining the beta test, professors can send an email to info@myvoicevibes.com
